Flint Creek Childcare Co. is a local non-profit providing childcare in the Philipsburg and Drummond areas. They participate in Best Beginnings Scholarship Program through DPHHS, which is available to eligible families, making childcare available at a subsidized rate. Granite County Public Health Office provide basic public health education to the County. They also offer back-to-school vaccinations for students entering Kindergarten / 7th Grade / and first year of College; as well as adult vaccinations for Shingles, Pneumonia Whooping Cough, and COVID-19.

Montana Lifespan Respite Coalition The Montana Lifespan Respite Coalition defines respite as "planned or emergency care provided to an individual with need for support and supervision in order to provide temporary relief to the primary caregiver of that individual." For those caregivers that experience extreme stress, routine activities may seem overwhelming. The Lifespan respite voucher program may be able to help provide the break they need! Learn more by going to respite (mt.gov).


The Lifespan Respite (LSR) Coalition in partnership with the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) has made available a public website of resources focusing on our Montana seniors and people with disabilities. The LSR Coalition collected respite services available in Montana and this information is included in the ADRC Resource Directory searchable database.

Montana’s Area Agencies on Aging are public or private non-profit agencies, designated by the Aging Services Bureau, to address the needs and concerns of older Montanans at the local level. The Area V Agency on Ageing Program provides assistance to citizens of Granite County. The type of assistance available includes respite care, light housekeeping, and shopping. Montana State University Extension Mobile Memory Café Program delivers dementia awareness. This program brings social engagement and dementia awareness to communities across Montana in April, May and June. The Mobile Memory Café offers free, research-informed resources to caregivers and individuals with early-onset Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Registration is not required to participate in the Mobile Memory Café. The program was developed by Dan Koltz, MSU assistant professor and Extension gerontology specialist.

Topics covered by the Mobile Memory Café include prevention, brain health, nutrition, sleep, social activity and physical health. The program is supported by the Montana Geriatric Education Center, County and Statewide Area Agencies on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association Montana Chapter.

Stops are scheduled in April, May and June in Anaconda, Butte, Darby, Drummond, Hamilton, Helena, Kalispell, Libby, Polson, Ronan and Roundup. A full list of dates, locations and additional details can be found at montana.edu/extension/health/healthy_aging/index.html.
